Emerald Hill Boran Stud was established in 2016 in the Eastern Cape of South Africa — country that rewards hardy animals and honest record-keeping.
We chose the Boran because it was shaped by Africa itself: centuries of natural selection in East Africa produced a breed that handles drought, ticks and heat while staying fertile and docile. Our job is simply to keep selecting for those same qualities, with modern records to prove it.
Every animal in the herd is DNA-profiled and performance-recorded — birth weights, weaning weights and inter-calving periods — so that when you buy from Emerald Hill, you know exactly what you are getting.
